Charity Trustees are in the spotlight in two recently published reports by the Public Administration
and Constitutional Affairs Committee (“PACAC”): on 1 February 2016 the PACAC published its report
entitled: “The Collapse of Kids Company: lessons for charity trustees, professional firms, the Charity
Commission and Whitehall” and on 25 January 2016 the PACAC published its report entitled “The 2015
fundraising controversy: lessons for trustees, the Charity Commission and regulators”.
The PACAC says that “The proper meaning of governance, the role of charity trustees, and the role of the
Charity Commission are themes common to both reports.”
